A prominent company in the industry is looking for a Data Protection Officer to provide guidance on privacy-related issues, enhance awareness, in  GDPR compliance. This position also involves supporting other Malta-based subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Board of Directors and the Head of Privacy, the Data Protection Officer will evaluate agreements from a data protection standpoint, negotiate data protection clauses with business partners, ensure vendor risk assessments are conducted, perform initial audits for new acquisitions, handle personal data breaches, and address compliance gaps.

The ideal candidate will oversee compliance, maintain records of all data processing activities and data maps, and foster a culture of data protection compliance across all departments. Ideally holds a law degree with a focus on GDPR and at least two years of experience in a similar role, ideally as an in-house DPO. IAPP CIPM Certification and/or CIPP/E will be advantageous.
